Overview

Behavior Analysis Center for Autism – BACA

BACA is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their growing therapy team in Elkhart, IN. We have educational centers that provides services for students with autism, as well as other related disorders. Our related services team consists of speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and music therapy. SLPs are an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, supporting exceptional outcomes for our students. 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and complete on 5-6 speech treatment sessions with students on a daily basis (in person and/or via telehealth)
  • Provide written communication to behavior technicians regarding speech targets.
  • Update teaching targets as needed (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.)
  • Provide training to behavior technicians related to teaching speech and language skills
  • Prepare six-month progress reports, daily log notes and IEPs, at times frequency may increase due to parent request or goal updates
  • Complete evaluations to fill caseload
  • Attend and participate in bi-weekly clinical meetings at your “home” center
  • Prepare, manage and make available your time management schedule on a weekly basis
  • Schedule speech consultations with ABA team as needed
  • Communicate regularly with each ABA Team Supervisor, while providing updates
  • Work collaboratively as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide continual parent and staff training and education
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments 
  • Communicate schedule and clinical decisions with ABA team, OT, and parents
  • Answer speech and language questions regarding clients on caseload

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required
  • License to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Indiana (or must obtain license by time of hire)
  • Experience working with children with autism
  • Experience in providing training to support team members
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
